Time Stops

Some of you know that my favorite website to frequent is ImprovEverywhere, where the huge New York improv group by the same name reports all their stunts. The team creates art in public spaces, giving the vigilant passerby a reason to stop, shake her head and sometimes laugh out loud. In the past they have been featured on Chicago Public Radio’s This American Life, and this latest “mission,” Frozen Grand Central, drew attention from the likes of The Today Show, Nightline and Good Morning America.
Observers and fans called it “moving,” “insightful” and a defense for “individual freedom” (which a couple writers went on to link to their own campaign for Ron Paul…?). Beyond that, Frozen Grand Central inspired 28 more of what IE is calling Global Freeze Events.
Let me know what you think!
Watch a better quality video and read IE’s entire transcript of the event here.
